13 tips to make your baby eat well

Your baby always makes you angry by being picky about food or always leaving leftovers in the bowl. Here are some suggestions to make mealtimes easier for your child, more enjoyable, and help develop good eating habits.

1. Be a good example
Parents need to model their children's eating habits. Children observe what their parents and family members like or don't like and then imitate them.

2. Rules with junk food
Do not give your baby snacks (including drinks) about 3 hours before the main meal. When your child comes back from school, give her a snack like a piece of fruit or a box of yogurt. Then, avoid giving your baby anything else until dinner. When your child is extremely hungry, he will be less picky and ready to eat the dishes that you put in front of him.

3. Minimize unhealthy food
Parents should avoid buying foods that are fattening or unhealthy. That means limiting processed foods, not buying a lot of sugary snacks…

4. Availability of "vegetarian" food
Always keep boiled fruits and vegetables such as carrots... so that your baby can eat whenever he or she is hungry.

5. Do not force
Encourage but not force your child to try new foods. Do not use food to entice your child to obey or as a reward because it can easily become a bad habit.

6. Do not urge or threaten
If you sit around and constantly urge or threaten your baby to eat, you are in a "power struggle" with your child. Don't try to get your baby to eat something because a pleasant meal will make your baby eat well and absorb nutrients.

7. Don't be sad or too worried
If your baby eats very little or almost nothing because he is not hungry, you should avoid getting upset. You can still serve your child on time, but tell him he can eat later. If your baby says he's hungry later, you can prepare a delicious meal for him.

8. Repeat
Practice giving your baby a new food from time to time. It's important that you stay calm and don't get frustrated if you get rejected. Studies show that babies have a natural reaction to rejecting new foods, but the more times they practice feeding them, the more likely they are to accept them.

9. Eat and drink with time
Eat at the same time and in the same place every day.

10. Go to the market with your baby
Encourage your child to choose healthy foods. Avoid choosing a lot of junk food. Go to the market with your baby or go to the vegetable and fish stalls at the supermarket for your baby to choose.

11. Cooking with your baby
Cooking not only encourages children to be independent, but also makes them happy with food.

12. Talk to your child about nutrition
We often think children can't understand when parents tell them that vitamin C in orange juice helps fight diseases, or beta-carotene in carrots helps improve vision. Do not be cumbersome but simple why you choose this food for your baby.

13. Everything in moderation
You can give your baby ice cream but only 1-2 sticks a week or eat a small piece of cake every 2 weeks.
